These Hollywood structures were once the cat's meow. They are now
just waiting for the crane and wrecking ball. Once packed with movie fans and live theatre and radio audiences, now they just serve
the homeless as places to crash for the night. A part of Hollywood's seedier side but still maintaining a bit of faded splendor.
The Fox Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. This theatre was still showing first run movies just a decade ago. |
A theatre on Hollywood Blvd East of the Hollywood Freeway. This theatre was a popular spot for moviegoers as recently as the 1980s. I worked here as an extra once during a filming of a theatre scene in a TV series. |
Hollywood Playhouse, South of Sunset and Las Palmas. This place has been used in movies and TV shows. It was an active little theatre for many years. It is currently closed. |
